Description

In August 2010, Falex started developing Phase 1 of the Ladyfern Gas Plant. The Ladyfern Gas Plant, with a capacity of 800 million cubic feet per day, is thought to be Canada’s largest shale gas field. It is situated 60 kilometres (37 miles) northeast of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, in the Horn River Basin region.

The scope of work for Falex included:

  • 65 pipe rack modules’ off-site assembly

ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT

Awarded Phase 2 based on Falex’s strong performance in Phase 1, EnCana enlarged Falex’s scope of work to include initial site grading and development, piling, site-wide power distribution, heavy lift craneage, and building erection.

Due to the natural gas market conditions, work on the EnCana Gas Plant 2 was suspended in December 2012 after starting in August 2011.
