Description:

Construction of the new Art Students Residence at the LaSalle College of Vancouver comprised of a five-story concrete and structural steel structure, a mechanical penthouse level, exterior landscaping, LCV playground relocation and site services. The 11,747 square meter building consists of 254 bedrooms, a classroom, exercise room and music room, retail space, small student lounge on each floor and larger one on the main floor plus an exterior patio area.

Both projects are concrete structures with a structural steel penthouse. Due to their location in an architecturally controlled heritage area, the exterior façades of the podiums were constructed of brick with Tyndall stone accents to resemble the older existing buildings nearby. The exteriors of the two towers were constructed of an EIFS system, full height curtain wall sections and pvc/aluminum hybrid windows.
