Description
Using horizontal directional drilling, Falex installed an 800-meter, 12-inch pipe beneath the Saskatchewan River near Banff National Park, AB.
The client’s pipeline, which was hanging from the existing bridge, needed to be moved before the federal government could replace the North Channel Bridge, which links the city of Calgary.
To make it simple for inspection tools to travel through the line, the new line was connected to the pipe infrastructure that already existed on each side of the crossings with retrofit fittings and pig launchers. In the course of the job, Falex also rebuilt a number of neighboring valves and tees.
